Beard – optional. Hair – not so much.

A Peek at Me

Problem solving, it’s what I do best. Whether it’s with ideas or with words. I like coming up with the solutions that make the client and the customer equally happy. Advertising needs to be thoughtful, remembered, liked, remembered. If people hate your ads or don’t recall them, they’ll probably hate or not recall your brand. I like building love, love of brands, love of ads, love of the process.

I love other stuff too: college sports, fishing, golf, music, laughing, the University of Minnesota, my wife, my kids, eating stuff that’s not good for me, comedy and a little bit of this and a lot of that.

Neat to Meet

In my time as a copywriter I’ve had the incredible fortune to be involved with some rather interesting people.

When working on television I’ve had the chance to write commercials for the musical groups The Black Eyed Peas and The Pussy Cat Dolls, pro athletes Kevin Garnett and Devin Hester, as well as work directly with movie (and commercial) director Alan Hughes.

In my experience writing for M (Magnolia’s flagship magazine), I’ve had the opportunity to interview and write stories about some other interesting folks, including Suburbs lead singer Chan Poling, celebrity interior designer and HGTV star Genevieve Gorder, handyman and TV host Matt Muenster, NFL lineman Eugene Monroe, guitarist and country music legend Derek Trucks, chef and restaurant owner Doug Flicker, as well as a large number of world-wide company presidents, CEOs, engineers, designers and all around amazing people.

I’ve learned a lot from each of these interactions, and I’ve really enjoyed bringing their stories to life.
